Nominations & Elections

Help Shape the Future of AAA: Submit Your Nominations starting August 15th!

It's time to identify new leaders for the AAA Executive Board and Nominations Committee! We encourage you to nominate outstanding AAA Section board members, leaders, or yourself to help guide AAA's future.

Nominations are open from August 15 to October 1, 2025.

We are seeking candidates for the following positions:

Executive Board

  • Archaeology Seat
  • Biological Seat
  • Linguistic Seat
  • Undesignated Seat

Nominations Committee

  • Biological Seat
  • Linguistic Seat
  • Undesignated Seat

Any AAA member can nominate another member by submitting a nomination form. Nominees will be contacted to complete a form to accept the nomination. Members may also self-nominate by providing a reference for a support letter (the reference does not need to be an AAA member).

Nominees may apply for up to three positions but must complete the nomination process for each. After all nominations are received, the Nominations Committee will carefully select two candidates for each position, ensuring fairness and balanced experience. The final ballot is approved by the AAA Board. If not selected, we encourage you to run again next year!

For the Executive Board, we are especially seeking individuals with section or workplace leadership experience. Ideal candidates have broad professional networks across career stages from students to senior anthropologists and demonstrate a commitment to the discipline as a whole.

Think of yourself or colleagues who fit these criteria and submit your nomination between August 15 and October 1!
