My Biography

What first sparked your interest in anthropology?

What first sparked my interest in anthropology was the opportunity to explore the diverse ways in which humans live. When I visited Pompeii in the year of 2018, I developed a passion to find out what happened in the past. Thus, researching to help history fill in the gaps.

What did you intend to do as a career after pursuing an education in anthropology?

I intended to pursue a career in academia or research, focusing on cultural anthropology and archaeology. My goal is to conduct fieldwork, contribute to scholarly knowledge, and engage in public outreach to share my passion with anthropological insights to a broader audience.

How do you utilize anthropological skills in your current position?

I utilize anthropological skills in my current position by applying cultural sensitivity and ethnographic methods to understand diverse perspectives. Critical thinking and analytical skills help me interpret data and human behavior, while effective communication allows me to convey complex concepts and foster collaborative environments.

Why did you become a AAA member and how has it enhanced your professional development?

I became an American Anthropological Association member to connect with students that have the same passions. This has enhanced my professional development with networking and to share my discoveries with those in the field who are interested in such topics.

What tips do you have for the next generation of student anthropologists?

Stay curious and open-minded, actively engage in fieldwork, and seek interdisciplinary opportunities. Build strong analytical and communication skills, network with professionals, and attend conferences. Always question assumptions, embrace diverse perspectives, and stay committed to ethical and unbias practices in your research and interactions.
