My Biography

Edward “Ted” Green (PhD, Catholic University of America, 1974) areas of anthropological expertise are medical anthropology, Africa and Maroon societies, and HIV/AIDS. He has worked on many projects since 1968, in Suriname, Swaziland (Eswatini). Mozambique, Uganda, Nigeria, South Africa, Bangladesh, Dominican Republic, etc. His fieldwork materials are now at the National Anthropological Archives and Smithsonian Institution. His first AAA meeting was in 1966 in Pittsburgh. He was so glad that the AAA formally came out against the war in Vietnam, and he met Margret Mead.
