My Biography
Ashley (she/her/hers) manages the association’s membership department and serves as the staff liaison to the Section Assembly. She also served as the staff liaison to the Task Force on Anthropology and American Indian and Alaska Native Nations. Ashley earned a BA in North American Archaeology from Lycoming College and her MA in Cultural Anthropology from George Mason University. Her thesis, titled “Your Own Personal Jesus: A Case Study of Liminal Nones at the 2015 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival”, explores the emerging demographic of “liminal nones” (those who reject formal religious affiliations and secular labels alike) using the Bonnaroo Festival as an ethnographic case study. Her current anthropological interests include religious and secular alternatives, post-capitalism, and anarchism.
