My Biography
Dr. Adam Gamwell is a cultural and design anthropologist, award-winning media creator, and entrepreneur. He is the founder of Anthrocurious, an innovation storytelling consultancy and co-founder of Mindshare, an AI knowledge sharing and research platform for brands and thought leadership communities. He works with startups, nonprofits, cultural organizations, and Fortune 1000 companies on applied strategy, human insights, and storytelling. His work has involved living among Peruvian quinoa farmers to address climate change impacts, producing a Portuguese-language audio documentary series on migrant domestic workers, investigating the cultural and social influences driving climate tech investment, as well as pioneering AI-enabled cultural foresights. Adam is an expert in harnessing big data and digital tools alongside anthropology to align human needs with business goals and inform innovation and insights, ensuring that every project resonates with multiple stakeholders and customers on a deeply human level.
A proponent for taking anthropology mainstream, Adam draws on his passion for media to create channels, opportunities and content for wide audiences. He is creator and host of This Anthro Life, a podcast that explores humanity’s creative potential through design, culture, and technology and serves as interim Editor-in-Chief of Anthropology News, the American Anthropological Associations award-winning member magazine. Adam holds an MA and PhD in cultural anthropology from Brandeis University. He speaks Spanish and Portuguese.
