The Annual Meeting is rapidly approaching, and we have squeezed a great deal of preparatory work into a very compressed time period, since we had extra work to do to make sure we could stage a blended meeting safely, supported by a strong, secure technology platform.
We are also aiming to accommodate peoples’ preferences for in-person and virtual participation. With hundreds of folks switching their preferences, we ran into some technical difficulties. If you have a task list to complete for the Annual Meeting as a participant on the program, we are extending the deadline for you to complete your tasks to Friday, October 22nd. Since the materials you’re uploading in your task lists have to be reviewed by our staff, we appreciate any materials submitted before the deadline.
If you’ve requested to move your session to the virtual platform (all of your presenters would like to present virtually), we’ve received your request, and are happy to accommodate this request. Your session has not yet been updated in the platform to reflect this change – your task list will not change – please complete it as it’s listed.
We have also received a number of concerns expressed about the request to upload presentation materials well enough in advance of the meeting dates that our ASL interpreters and transcriptionists can prepare to support our community’s commitment to accessibility. Belonging to an inclusive, accessible community means that we all share in this commitment, and we appreciate your good faith effort to help us move further along the pathway to making this commitment a reality.
We appreciate the feedback members have been providing this week. We are doing our very best to create a program that gives as much choice and comfort to our annual meeting participants as possible.
