My Biography
Dr. Sammells is an Associate Professor of Anthropology at Bucknell University, and specializes in the cultural anthropology of tourism and food in Latin America. She conducted ethnographic research on cuisine and archaeological tourism in highland Bolivia, and in Bolivian restaurants in Madrid, Spain. She is currently engaged in an ethnographic study on tourism to Antarctica embarking from Ushuaia, Argentina. Dr. Sammells previously served as President of the Society for Latin American and Caribbean Anthropology (SLACA), a section of the AAA.
