If you are in need financial support to present at the 2025 AAA Annual Meeting, please complete this form to be considered as a potential recipient of the Support an Anthropologist Program, which helps to partially or fully offset the costs of AAA membership and meeting registration. A member from the AAA Meetings Team will reach out to you if funds are available through our programs. Applications will be reviewed after the August 29, 11:59pm ET deadline. Notifications will be sent by September 12.

Before you complete this form, please be sure that you have already created a profile in its entirety at the AAA Community Hub. You do not have to become a member of the AAA to apply for financial aid, but you will need to have completed this step before we can review your application.

Financial Aid

The American Anthropological Association (AAA) is committed to making its Annual Meeting accessible to anthropologists from diverse backgrounds. To support this goal, we offer financial aid to partially or fully offset meeting registration and/ or membership fees for individuals who demonstrate financial need. Members are also encouraged to donate to the “Annual Meeting Registration Fund” to support this funding initiative.

Discretionary Waiver

The American Anthropological Association (AAA) recognizes the importance of fostering global and interdisciplinary dialogue at its Annual Meeting. To enhance the diversity of perspectives in our program, AAA offers partial and full registration waivers to: anthropologists based outside the U.S. and Canada, and non-anthropologists contributing to the program. Non-anthropologists must be invited or sponsored by a AAA member who can articulate the applicant’s value to the meeting.
